About Us

The FAM177A1 Research Fund is an all-volunteer family-run non-profit on a mission to improve the lives of everyone suffering from FAM177A1 Disorder. We provide hope to affected families by funding research to accelerate the development of treatments and a cure for this rare disease. We are guided by a board of world-class scientists. The foundation was founded in 2021 by Jill and Doug Hawkins whose children, Charlotte and Cooper, were among the first in the world diagnosed with FAM Disorder.
